How to Get OpenAI API Key
OpenAI API keys are managed from the OpenAI developer platform.
Step 1 — Open the official provider page
Use the official provider account or developer console. AIZone does not sell or issue provider API keys.
Step 2 — Create or select an API key
Sign in, complete any required account or billing setup, then create a new API key from the provider's current API-key management screen.
Step 3 — Copy the key securely
Copy the key once and keep it private. Do not post it in source code, public repositories, screenshots, browser console logs, or chat messages.
Step 4 — Return to AIZone
Go to Connect Your Own Provider, choose OpenAI, and enter the key only if you understand that browser storage can be inspected by scripts running on the same origin.
API key safety checklist
- Use the provider's official website.
- Never share your secret key with AIZone support or another person.
- Rotate or revoke a key if you think it was exposed.
- For production applications, prefer server-side secret management over browser storage.
